Appreciating the Good Things in Fall

I love Fall.   It is my favorite season.  After being in the closed up house all Summer with the air conditioning, I love opening my windows and letting the place air out with nice brisk air.

There are so many fun things to do in the Fall.  There are Fall Festivals, hay rides, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and sipping warm cider . You can go apple picking at a local orchard.   You can take long, leisurely drives on open county roads to look at the beautiful scenery as the leaves change.  If you catch it at peak, they are such lovely colors.

I love sweater weather.  There is no need yet for a heavy coat, but it’s perfect for a light jacket or sweater.  You always feel a bit cozier.

I do decorate some outside for Halloween and I love to see the little children when they come to my door. I like to carve a pumpkin and decorate my porch.  I also toast the pumpkin seeds, yummy!

A lot of people are really into Halloween.  I went into one Haunted House a few years ago that scared the bejeebies out of me,  so I won’t be doing that again. Seriously, a guy chased us out with a chain saw!

I only wish Fall would last a little longer before Winter begins.

It has gotten so darn cold

I’m not one that likes cold weather. I should live somewhere where it stays around 70 degrees year around but there’s no such place. If I lived where it’s around 70 degrees in the winter, then it’s so darn hot in the summer that you can’t hardly breathe. I guess I am like everyone else and just can’t be totally satisfied with anything.

I know, I need a summer home and a winter home. I need a summer home in Phoenix Arizona. I don’t think it gets that cold in the winter there but then I need a summer home in maybe Denver Colorado. I don’t think it gets very hot there in the summer. I need to win the lottery if that’s the case. Wait a minute, you have to buy tickets to win that, don’t you?

Christmas Decor

This Christmas card made me think of a great joke to pull on my mother. She has always loved trips to Florida, and Florida has this thing about flamingos. So we kids started buying her crappy things with flamingos on them. Like coffee mugs, blanket throws, curtains, lamps, all kinds of junk. It got to be so much that she has a whole bedroom dedicated to her flamingos collection.

It would be a real hoot to find some of the large plastic flamingos and put them in her yard with Santa hats on them. OMG! She would get such a thrill!

Do you eat healthy?

I try very hard to eat healthy every day. Some days it’s not that easy when it’s a super busy day though. Like sometimes at work if we have to work late, they’ll order out something and it’s not usually the best things if you know what I mean. I love Reds and Sweet Tender GreensTM. They are the best salads you can buy I think.

Not only are they good, they are really good for you. They have two new salads available but my favorite is Reds and Sweet Tender GreensTM.. You know how if your food looks good, it tastes better? Well this is really a pretty salad that’s also good for you.

They’re full of phytonutrients which in plain English means they are full of plant-based nutrients. These types of nutrients help to boost immunity and provide antioxidant protection. They also promote promote eye health too.

Are your bulbs coming up?

I just noticed this morning as I was leaving for work that my crocus are up and blooming. My daffodils are up about 4 inches too.  I thought that stupid groundhog said we were going to have 6 more weeks of winter. I think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Maybe they will have 6 more weeks of winter in Pennsylvania but it sure doesn’t feel or look like it here. I hope we have seen the last of the really cold weather personally.
